I'm just randomly hitting the "random" button, and I came across your journal. I had to pay you a compliment on the awesome layout. The big "oh bloody hell" at the top made me laugh (I don't know why hearing that said with an English accent amuses me so), and I'm a big (if new) of the LOTR series! ;-)

LOL, its ok to be a new fan, because I am too (well, ever since the movies came out, at least =) ) Thanks for your compliments on the layout! It took forever to figure out the write caption to put, and I finally decided on oh bloody hell, since its my favorite phrase!

Woohoo, another new fan! I don't feel so bad. Most of the people I know read the books years ago. I was more into the straight-up science fiction like Star Trek, Star Wars, etc..

I wound up getting the boxed set of the three LOTR books and The Hobbit for Christmas from my mom last year. Once I started in on The Hobbit, I was hooked! The books are even better than the movies, and that's saying a lot!

"Bloody Hell" is one of my favorite phrases too, but I never say it. I just don't have the accent to make it sound right. ::grin::

I'm Vinnie by the way, nice to meet you!

yeah I got all the books for my birthday last year, and I am about halfway through Return of the King, and I love them! I'll probley read them again when I'm done...when I have time, lol.

My mom is British so I've been brought up with all those sayings, and I sound kinda strange when I say them, especially when I am on the tennis court ("Hit the bloody ball over the net!") but I don't mind.

I'm Kristin. Nice to meet you! =)

::offers hand to shake::

Mind if I add you to my friends list? It's been awhile since I found someone cool doing the "random" thing. ;-) I figure someone who likes Friends, Lord of the Rings, Grand Theft Auto 3 AND ER has to be worth reading about!

Have you guys seen...

have you guys seen the very original LOTR, or are you just talking about the "new" hollywood versions. since LOTR has been around since like way past the 60s. get all the cartoon movies, they wont be as graphically well made as the movies, but they are the originals and a must need if you like LOTR so much. but i wouldnt watch the third movie before the third version movie style came out, unless you want to spoil your ending. HOPEFULLY, they will make the Hobbit into a movie. its the better of all of the movies.

Re: Have you guys seen...

actually, i dont think watching anything else will "spoil the ending" to the movie, because i've actually READ THE SERIES, which happened to come out BEFORE the animated movies you are speaking of.
